What is a Layette?

So what is a layette? Basically all of the things you need after pregnancy for your new arrival. While it may be overwhelming what you need for your newborn, we are here to help.

Essentials for your newborn:

• 4-6 infant gowns (so easy for changing baby in the middle of the night, some convert to legs for later on)
• 6-8 washclothes
• 4-6 receiving blankets
• 10-12 bodysuits (they go through these quickly as they easily make a mess and wear under everything)
• 6-8 sleepers
• 2-4 hooded towels
• 2-4 caps
• 8-10 bibs (we loved bibs over burp clothes at the beginning)
• 4-6 side-snap shirts
• 4-6 pullover shirts

We love the 3-piece take me home sets from Baby Steps as well as their converter gowns and sleepers. They come in great colors including tie dye for a very hip look for your baby. We also love the baby clothes from Pixie Lily. The cotton is so soft that you want your newborn to wear them forever and we love the deer print in the t-shirt and legging pajama set.
